What is Asset Finance?

Asset finance is a popular business funding solution that allows companies to acquire assets – such as vehicles, machinery, or equipment – without paying the full amount upfront. Instead, your business borrows against the asset’s value and repays it over time through manageable instalments.

Traditionally this was used for hard assets with a long life span, but today you can finance software, services, warranties, hardware etc. and generally equipment with very little resale value.

Types of Asset Finance

Depending upon what you want to do there are several different routes to raising finance for acquiring new equipment or technology.

Asset finance hire purchase
  • Leasing - Allows you to spread the cost of an assets but title remains with the lender until the end of the contract.
  • Hire/Lease Purchase - Enables you to own the asset.
  • Business Loans - To be used for activities related to the business. Paid directly to the borrower.
  • Operating Leases - Good for shorter life assets that may need to be upgraded.
  • Refinancing of Assets - You can raise money against assets you already own and use in your business.
